DESCRIPTION:A tour around Lake Huron via Tobermory\, Manitoulin Island\, Parry Sound\, Algonquin\, Northen Quebec and Ontario. \nCheck the forum for more info and discussion.  Lake Huron Circle and Ferry Tour Aug 17 – 24\, 2025 – Rides – BMW Touring Club of Detroit Forum \nLake Huron Circle and ferry tour from Sunday\, August 17 to Monday\, Aug. 25.  We will embark Sunday morning on the 17th and head to Algonac and take the Walpole Ferry across to Canada and then head up Highway 21 to Tobermory for the night.  On Monday morning we will take the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry across Georgian Bay to Manitoulin island and make our way across the island to Northern Ontario where we will dabble routes and towns like Parry Sound\, Huntsville\, Algonquin Park\, Petawa\, then dip into Northern Quebec for Val D'or\, Kirkland Lake\, Timmins\, Wawa\, Batchawana Bay and more.  We will traverse Northern Ontario and Quebec on some gorgeous twisty roads full of breathtaking scenery\, across the Canadian Shield and meander our way to Wawa and then back down through the Soo. \nHere is a list of hotels to book.  They will fill up very quickly as the areas we are riding to are very popular in the summer and availability is limited.  Price is reflective of lack of hotels in the area\, but so worth it. SUMMARY:The Detroit Urban Tour
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Morning Ride through Detroit to see its landmarks and progress toward returning to glory.  Mexican Town\, Downriver\, the Gordie Howe Bridge\, Riverfront Parks\, Belle Isle\, Indian Village\, Motown and more.  Ride will once again start at Los Galane's in Mexican Town and end at the Motor City Brewery for a sandwich or pizza lunch.  This ride is a long time TCD favorite and is usually very well attended. \nMeet up is usually 10:00 am in the parking lot behind Los Galane's Restaurant\, 3362 Bagley Ave in Detroit. Our route is 35 miles\, covering the new Gordie Howe Bridge\, the revitalized riverfront\, Belle Isle\, the Packard Plant and the Motown Museum\, ending at the Motor City Brewery.   A bathroom/snack stop is planned on Belle Isle. \nArrive early at Los Galane's to grab some fresh pastry from La Gloria Bakery\, across the street. \nDouble check the TCD website home page for confirmation of time and location of meet up spot.

SUMMARY:Lake Superior Circle Tour
DESCRIPTION:Take a trek into the UP and then circumnavigate Lake Superior. Tentative plans are for an 8-day trip\, with each day's ride to be between 220 and 290 miles with plenty of stops at scenic vistas to admire the natural beauty of the area round Lake Superior. A counterclockwise tour\, across the Big Mac to St. Ignace\, then to Sault Ste Marie and into Canada. Then following 17 around to Thunder Bay\, pick up 61 into Duluth. Zigzag our way across the Upper to visit Copper Harbor\, Kitch-Iti-Kipi Springs and Tahquamenon Falls before heading back across the bridge to follow the coastline down to Petosky before heading home. \nPlease watch the Rides forum for additional details\, to voice your interest in participating in this wonderful ride and to provide input into the route planning.

DESCRIPTION:Travel with your fellow Adventure riding enthusiasts across the border to the Maumee State Forest APV Area.  A great way to shake off the winter rust or get your first introduction to ADV riding\, the Maumee APV Park has two distinct loops - one dirt and the other sand.  Conditions depend entirely on the recent weather as to the amount of mud\, dust and water is on the trails.  Both trails have long and short loops. \nMeet for breakfast at 10:00 am at the Harvest Moon Cafe\, 5484 W Michigan Ave in Pittsfield Township\, just east of US-23 on W Michigan. From the Harvest Moon\, ride to the Maumee State Forest APV Area.  Return trip stops at the Great Lakes Eatery & Pub in Maumee.  The route is posted in the Route Library.
