Just picked up a brand new R1200RT… my very first BMW motorcycle, so excited!

Does anyone have any recommendation for a reputable place to install “Paint-Protection Film/Coating” for a motorcycle?

I’m not familiar with anyone doing it to their bike, but it’s a great idea if they can wrap the surfaces.

Ducati Detroit may be familiar with folks in the area who do wraps on bikes (I’m guessing – but they do a lot of custom paint, etc.).

Let us know how it goes & if you find someone to do it!

I’m interested in having my tank sides done on a GSA. I’ve called a few local car places and none have been interested.

Please share if you find someone to do it.

You probably wont find a shop willing to do this because its very labor intensive wrapping bike parts. Plus the paint protection vinyl is a bit thick and will probably remind you of the sofa your grandmother covered in clear plastic. I did a partial wrap on my bike a few years ago but the intention was design not paint protection.

As an alternative you guys may want to look into a product from Simoniz called Glasscoat. Its a ceramic treatment applied best to new surfaces when everything is fresh and clean. Protects paint, plastics, windshield, exhaust, just about everything. I saw a demonstration at my place of employment and this stuff protects against just about everything imaginable, and has a lifetime warranty. Don’t remember the specific guidelines that need to be met but ‘NEW’ condition is best recommended.
