Spectacular fall weather lead to a great turnout for our 29th Annual 'Fitz run. 60 degree temperatures, sunny skies, and the last of the fall colors made for an excellent weekend.
20 folks made their way to East Tawas to participate. 11 hearty souls camped (most with heat of some sort in their tents), 8 stayed at the Bambi, and one person just passed thru.
Shortly after 4:00 the group make their way to the beach for our traditional ceremony and reading of the names of the 29 crew members of the Edmund Fitzgerald lost on November 10th 1975 to the icy waters of Lake Superior.
We then departed to Mr Jack'ss Sports Bar & Grill in East Tawas for dinner. They did a great job and has us set up with a large table in the front room of the bar.
The campfire was lit at dusk and we were treated to clear skies and a great view of all the stars.
